Our Quality Control Process
Every estimate undergoes two independent reviews before delivery. Here is exactly how we catch errors and ensure accuracy.
Dual-Review Process
Every estimate that leaves our office goes through a documented two-review process. This is not optional — it is built into our workflow and tracked in our project management system. No estimate is delivered until both the lead estimator and the quality assurance reviewer have signed off.
Review Stage 1: Lead Estimator Review
After the takeoff specialist completes the quantity survey, the lead estimator reviews the entire takeoff before pricing begins. This includes:
- Verifying all quantities against the plan set
- Checking that all addenda have been incorporated
- Confirming scope coverage matches the specifications
- Identifying any drawing-specification conflicts
- Adjusting takeoff methodology for complex areas
Review Stage 2: Quality Assurance Review
After the lead estimator completes pricing and bid assembly, a second senior estimator performs an independent QA review:
- Spot-checking quantities against the original plan set
- Verifying material pricing against current supplier data
- Reviewing labor unit selection for appropriate productivity factors
- Checking mathematical accuracy of extensions and totals
- Confirming overhead and profit percentages match agreed rates
- Reviewing scope letter for clarity and completeness

Error Tracking & Continuous Improvement
We track every error found during QA review in our internal system. Common issues — such as missed addenda items, miscounted devices on repetitive floor plans, or incorrect labor unit selection — are documented and used to improve our checklists and training materials. Our error rate has decreased consistently since we implemented this tracking system.
