Read the units separately: FT records feet, EA records individual items and LS records a lump-sum allowance. A lump-sum row does not establish measured cable or conduit length. Base quantity, allowance and adjusted quantity remain separate in the interactive schedule. Source categories are retained; they do not replace the specification divisions in your project manual.

Electrical bid examples: what to check before pricing

An electrical work estimate sample should help you trace the scope behind a price. The published excerpts here show measured quantities and source references; they are not complete priced bids.

  1. Reconcile the measured work. Check fixture and device counts against schedules, keep conduit and conductor units distinct, and identify any lump-sum allowance before applying rates.
  2. Agree the pricing inputs. A priced electrical construction estimate also needs material quotations, labor hours and rates, equipment requirements and the date of those inputs. Quantity rows alone do not establish an installation price.
  3. Review the bid boundaries. Record who carries demolition, controls, testing and other interfaces shown in the project documents. Keep base work, alternates and later addenda identifiable.

For your own bid, review the priced electrical estimating scope and confirm the required quantities, pricing and deliverables in the project quote.
